After 15 years at the helm of Studio 197, I relaunched the full-service audio production venture on July 1, 2015, as my own company – with a new name to accentuate its “indie” status. The move allowed me to focus exclusively on production, serving as a reliable creative resource for radio and advertising clients across the U.S. and, sometimes, beyond.

June 2000-June 2015

Joined multimedia group to launch Studio 197, an audio production company servicing the radio and advertising industries. Responsible for all day-to-day operations including hands-on production, client relations and marketing. Also built from scratch an in-house FM station in 2007 (“Classic Hits, Wings 94.3”) which quickly became my other job – programming, scheduling music and hosting the morning show.

1999-2000

Spearheaded production for six-station group including AC legend “Magic 96” FM, CHR WQEN and N/T WERC during ownership transfer from AMFM to Clear Channel.

Barnstable Broadcasting/Memphis, TN

1998-1999

Responsible for all creative services for FM trio including market-leading WRBO (Soul Classics) and perennial Top 5 WGKX (Country).

 

VP/Programming

Colonial Broadcasting/Montgomery AL

1984-1998

Served 14 years as key player for market-dominating WLWI – started as creative services director for one station, left as VP/Programming for four.

 

The Early Years

Entered the radio world at age 14; honed skills at a variety of small-market (SE Alabama) stations with on-air/programming roles; worked virtually all formats – always with heavy emphasis on creative copywriting and production.
